Our flagship strap design intended to be single pass with an adjustable second keeper. For further fitment quality the tail can be trimmed and maintain an original appearance.

Shell cordovan is a moderately firm leather that wears in beautifully and we continue to recommend gradually tightening the strap over the first 1-2 weeks. This allows the strap to form to the wrist and watch. This will prolong the life of your spring bars as well as aid in the overall fit of the strap.

In true SBWC fashion their 1st shell cordovan strap release is a disruption to the norm. Noticing the uniqueness of the marble shell underside, they decided to run it as the topside due to it's rich and camouflage like dye patterns. The SBWC continue to challenge the status quo and provide truly impressive, quality products out into the world.

Shell Cordovan

Considered one of the most precious leathers on Earth. There are only two small "shells" that are produced from the underside of a horse rump where there is dense flat muscle tissue. This leather gained it's robust reputation through the works of cobblers and barbers of the 19th century for its use in shoes and leather strops used to hone the edges of straight razors. Shell cordovan is now the leather of choice in high end hand bags, wallets and shoes primarily for its workability allowing it to be maintained over a lifetime. For this reason we saw it fit to provide to our customers due to the demanding line of work they conduct.

Rocado Leather

Established in 1982 in a small town in Tuscany, Italy, Rocado has become a premier tannery of genuine shell cordovan. Rocado is a small family owned tannery that focuses on traditional methods such as vegetable tanning processes that can take up to 3 months to produce the leather. Rocado uses many hands on operations including the application of aniline dyes and quality greases. Rocado has a full circle production focus that starts with the raw hide and finishes with the final product.

The marble dye pattern on the underside of the hide is not held to manufactures & distributors acceptance criteria allowing presence of numerous colors not required for the hides intended finish. Each strap can contain unique colors, makers stamp and inventory/ identification marks. No strap will have the same pattern or marks. providing a truly unique 1 of 1 strap.
